Brenda (Altheiser) Chrimes

Newport, NH - Brenda Altheiser Chrimes of Newport, NH died at Wolfeboro Bay Nursing Home surrounded by family on July 12, 2016.  She was 72 years old.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas W. Chrimes of Newport, NH, her children, William Chrimes and his wife Teresa of Wentworth, NH, Susan Dandeneau of Sebring, FL, Michael Chrimes and his wife Riann of Bradenton, FL, James Chrimes of Newport, NH, and her three grandchildren.  She was predeceased by numerous family members. 

Brenda was born on March 17, 1944 in the town of Norwich, CT to Henry and Marion Altheiser.  She went to Norwich Free Academy, graduating with the class of 1962.  She married Thomas W. Chrimes on June 23, 1962 and they shared 54 years together. 

Brenda worked in numerous healthcare organizations including owning her own residential care home.  She also worked for Newport School System.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, puzzles, crocheting, and shopping! She really loved to visit the ocean.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH with a reception to follow at the Newport Senior Center.  Rev. Donna Leslie will offiiciate the ceremony.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Brenda's life.  A graveside service will be held the following day, Sunday, July 17 at 11:30 A.M. at Avery Cemetery in Preston, CT. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Brenda's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital at stjude.org.  Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 9 Wentworth, NH 03282.
