Newport, NH-Chaunee L. (Ingalls) Baker, 56, of School Street, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born in Newport on July 7, 1959 the daughter of Carl W. and Constance J. (Simpson) Ingalls.  She graduated from high school and business school in PA and returned to Newport.  Chaunee had been a clerk at the Sullivan County Registry of Deeds and then became Deputy and recently Registrar of Deeds.  She worked at the Registry for over 30 years.


Her family was so important to her.  She enjoyed spending time with the children and grandchildren and most often could be found with Charlie.  She liked the NY Giants and the Earnhardt Family.  Chaunee enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Pittsburg, NH and also liked the pool and 4 wheeling. 


She is predeceased by her father.  Members of her family surviving include her husband of 35 years, Charles E. Baker, Jr. of Newport, NH; four children, Dawn Baker of Lebanon, NH, Tracy Prouty of Newport, NH, Andrew and his wife, Kasey Rollins of Greenville, NC, and Brittani and her husband, Joseph Nash of Newport, NH; her mother, Constance Ingalls of Newport, NH; six grandchildren, Morgan and his wife, Taylor Leatherberry, Mason Prouty, Orin Rollins, Jasmin Diggs, Isaiah Mercado and Gracie Nash; one great granddaughter, Avery Leatherberry; two brothers, Michael and his wife, Heather Ingalls of Newport, NH and Carl and his wife, Mary Ingalls, Jr. of Claremont, NH; three sisters, Carla Amos and her significant other, Owen Jarvis of Windsor, VT, Michelle Boch of New London, NH and Tina and her husband, Thomas LaClair of Charlestown, NH; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.


Friends may call at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 11:00-2:00.  A gathering will follow at the Forester's Club, 38 Maple Street, Newport.
