We are so sad to hear about Dean. He is another in the long line of our family to leave us way too soon. We both have gone to Newport football games over the years and half the fun was knowing we would see Dean. That included at the State Championships at UNH in 2015. Newport has lost a guy whose life was being the Sunshine Town's Best Cheerleader.

To the entire family my sincerest condolences. While I did not know Dean very well, I did know him from racing and he was one of the nicest and most caring people I have ever had the privilege and honor to know. The love he had for his son, Craig, showed without a word being spoken, just the actions. He was a great man and will be sorely missed by the entire racing community.

Dear Smith family, I got my first car when I was a senior in high school. I was parked in front of Miller brothers purchasing a suit and my car wouldn't start. Dean, being only an 8th grader came by and asked if he could help. Yes, he got it started and I wasn't late for supper. Thank you Dean, I have never forgotten. Our deepest sympathy, Larry and Sheila Britton

Sad to hear of Dean's passing so young in life. He has done so much and I am sure he had many more things he would have continued to do. It's true, the good do die to young. Prayers and sympathy to his surviving relatives and friends. Paul & Sandy Duling
