Herbert G Bennett

Goshen, NH: Herbert G. Bennett, 89, of Province Road, passed away on March 30th, 2017.

Born on November 13th, 1927 in Boston, MA, Herbert led an accomplished life. From serving his country in the US Air Force, to  skeet shooting, to an impressive fifty-five years of marriage to the love of his life, Joyce, there was little that stood in Herb's way.

After receiving a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Herb worked at Proctor and Gamble for forty-five years. Upon retirement in the early 1990's, he moved to Goshen, where he enjoyed being a pilot, playing golf, and keeping active in the community serving as a selectman for the town.

Herb was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Joyce (Kirby) Bennett in 2006, and by two of his sons, Michael "Harpo" Bennett and Peter Bennett.

Surviving family members include his sons, Stephen Bennett and  his wife Lisa DeGeorge of Enfield, NH, Scott Bennett and his wife Sharon of Hull, MA, Chris Bennett and his significant other Colette Hardy of Swansea, MA; grandchildren, Johnathan, Justin, Joshua, Aaron, Max, Brianna; many great-grandchildren and extended family, including Pam Bennett.

Memorial calling hours will be held at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, NH on Tuesday, April 4th, from 5 to 8 PM.  

Another visitation will take place at the Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St, Plymouth, MA on Thursday, April 6th, from 5 to 9 PM.
