Joan A (Van Ronk) Spalluto

Newport, NH-Joan A. (Van Ronk) Spalluto, 82, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Woodlawn Care Center in Newport, NH where she had resided for the past several years.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 17, 1934 the daughter of Franklyn Van Ronk and Alice (Henley) Van Ronk Pelletieri. She spent her early years in Bridgeport and graduated from Harding High School. She enjoyed antiquing, decorating her home and her daughter's homes with "if I were you" suggestions. That was a joke for a very long time. Joan was a devoted wife and grandmother to her three grandchildren who did their best to drive her nuts.

Her husband of 41 years, Marcellino A. Spalluto, died in 1996. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Timko and two sisters, Margaret Mackey and Ada Foy.

She is survived by a daughter and her partner, Sharon Spalluto and Tony Davis of Marlow, NH; a son-in-law, William Timko of Shelton, CT; a brother, Franklyn Van Ronk, Jr. of Beacon Falls, CT; three grandchildren, Brittany Timko of Shelton, CT, Travis Dalling of Marlow, NH and Wils and his wife, Amanda Dalling of Lempster, NH; several nieces and a nephew.

Memorial Service and burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull, CT at 10am on Thursday January 19, 2017.
