Keith R. Gardner

Newport, NH-Keith R. Gardner, 61, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Hanover, NH on January 29, 1954 the son of the late Russell Gardner and Ruth (Parker) Gardner.

He graduated from Newport High School in 1972 and worked at Dorr Woolen Mill, NY Life Insurance and Sturm Ruger. 

Keith was a member of the American Legion Post #25.  He enjoyed fishing and particularly his annual fishing trip with the guys, hunting and watching his grandchildren play.  Interested in football, he was a huge Cowboys and Patriots fan.  His father was an awesome cook and so was Keith.  He also liked SciFi and National Geographic.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Cutts) Gardner; a sister, Gail; brother, Rodney; his father, Russell; grandson, Jackson Bagley and stepbrother, Jesse Johnson.

Keith is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kathy (Woods) Gardner; his mother, Ruth (Parker) Gardner; mother-in-law, Ella Woods; daughters, Tanna Gardner of FL, Nikkia Gardner of AZ, Heather Bagley and husband, Artie of Newport; stepson, Jeff Neault and wife, Serena of GA; brother, John Gardner and wife, Patti of Franklin, NH; sister, Caprice; sister, Lynette Dundon of CO, sister-in-law, Lou-Ann Gardner of Newport; stepmother, Natalie Gardner of Newport, NH, stepsister, Nancy Ash and husband, Albert of Newport; step sister-in-law, Janet Johnson.  He was known as “Papa” to his six beloved grandchildren, Keagen, MacKenzie, Kalen, Aiden, Aliah and Faith.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, a special niece, Michelle Ash and a great friend, Heather Wagner. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH with The Rev. Donna Leslie, officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
