Lawrence R. Guimond

Lempster, NH - Lawrence R. Guimond, 72, of Rte. 10 died peacefully at his home on April 28, 2016.  He was born in Newport, NH on Sept. 23, 1943, the son of Ralph and Dorothy Guimond. 

He spent his early years in Newport and then lived for many years around Lake Sunapee before moving to Lempster a few years ago.  Lawrence had worked as a machinist for Ruger's for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, wrestling and was a collector of Native American memorabilia. His cat, Princess, meant the world to him and had the run of the house. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, he never forgot you. "Hey, Joe, pretty good joke", was what you heard if you were the recipient of one of his practical jokes.

Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy, a daughter, Veronica and a brother, Richard.

He is survived by his daughter Melissa Julian and husband Tim of Springfield, NH; a son, Rodney and his wife Donna of Newport, NH; 4 siblings, Henry, Herbie, Deanna and Lorraine; 2 grandchildren, Cecily Fellows and Joshua Walker; 2 great grandchildren, Hanna and Owen Fellows; and many other family members.

A celebration of life will be held May 14th, from 1pm-4pm at the Sugar River Community Room, 10 North Main Street in Newport.
