Marian E. (Curtis) Smith

Newport, NH: Marian E. Smith, 87, died on September 26, 2017 at Woodlawn Care Center. She was born in Etna, ME on July 2, 1930 to the late Albert and Ivadeen (Harris) Curtis.

Marian grew up and attended schools in Maine. She married Carl A. Smith on June 9, 1950 and they shared 41 years of marriage before his death in 1991.

Marian loved to play bingo, listen to country music, spend time with her family and visit her home state of Maine. She also enjoyed camping in the White Mountains.

Marian was predeceased by her parents, husband, son, Carson Smith and grandson, Carson Smith.

Surviving family members include her daughter, Carolyn LaQuire and her husband, Sidney, Sr. of Lempster, NH, brother, Perley Curtis and his wife, Stella of Newport, ME, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.

Upon her request, no services will be held.  A private burial will be held in Woodstock, NH.

Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
