Welcome to the memorial page for

Marjorie H. Thomas

April 15, 1928 ~ July 12, 2016 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Mrs. Marjorie H Thomas, 88, of Lempster, NH, passed away peacefully at Woodlawn Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, following a period of declining health.

"Sis", as she was lovingly known, was born on April 15, 1928 in Goshen, NH and attended school there.

Marjorie lived most of her life in Lempster, with her husband, Marshall Thomas Sr., and their three sons. She worked at Dorr Woolen Mill for over 40 years where she made countless friends and many wonderful memories.

Marjorie loved to travel and was always up for any adventure, whether it was a preplanned summer long voyage, like her trip to Alaska with her husband and grandson, Jeffery, or a spur of the moment, cross country trek with her partner in crime, Linda Downing.  In her younger years, she loved camping in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter most often taking her grandchildren along.  Sis loved bingo, playing cards or games, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles and would read anything and everything. Marjorie was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor.  She will be sorely miss by all who knew and loved her.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, her beloved grandson, James Welch, and the love of her life, Bill Butler, who she couldn't wait to be reunited with.

She is survived by her three sons, James Welch, of Lempster, Marshall Thomas, Jr of Calvert City Kentucky and Tim Thomas, also of Lempster, 4 grandchildren, Jeff Thomas and his wife Nicole of Calvert City, KY, Shanee Taylor and her husband Adam of Unity, NH, Rebecca Welch and her fiancé, Herve' Ferland of Lempster, NH and Heidi King of Newport, NH, and 7 great grandchildren Malia King, Logan Thomas, Tyler King, Christopher Ferland, Alex Taylor, Owen Taylor and Brandon King.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Lempster Rescue Squad.

A Celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016, 1-3pm, CSB Community Center, 152 South St. Claremont NH.
