Mary "Kathi" (Snowden) Winters

Mary Kathleen (Kathi) Winters, 68, passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2017 at DHMC in Lebanon, NH. She was born on December 02, 1948 in Stephenville, Newfoundland, to Hiram and Helen Magnussen Snowden.

Kathi grew up in an Air Force family and spent her childhood in many states and countries. She graduated from Bellevue High in Bellevue, Nebraska class of ‘66.

Kathi married the love of her life Karl Winters in 1979 in Sunapee, NH. They were happily married for 38 years. Kathi enjoyed golfing, skiing, gardening, spending time with family & friends, shopping and playing online games. She always sacrificed her needs for the needs of her family. Kathi will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother who always had a smile on her face, even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength; she never complained and always looked to a brighter future.

Kathi was preceded in death by her parents Hiram and Helen Snowden; her father-in-law Fredrick Winters and her husband Karl E Winters.

Kathi is survived by her son Joe Romeo and his wife Tracy, Newport, NH; her daughters Kerry Leatherberry, Newbury, NH; Helen Romeo and her fiancé Doug Granfield, Concord, NH; Kathleen Winters, Sunapee, NH. Her “sister” Tuti Frappier, Sunapee, NH. Her brothers Roger Snowden and his wife Joyce, Omaha, NE; Doug Snowden and his wife Mary, Harrah, OK; her grandchildren; Zachariah, Megan, Jamie, Jessie, Christy, Benjamin, Tyler, Karl, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Nathaniel; great-grandchildren; Hadleigh, Ashton and Karl as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service and burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery on Monday, August 28th at 1pm. Family and friends are welcome back to 85 Penacook Path, Sunapee to celebrate Kathi’s life.
