Danbury, NH: Michael Hastings passed away suddenly at home on September 30th.  He was 28 years old.

Michael was born at Valley Hospital in Claremont, NH.  He lived in Grantham and Croydon, NH most of his life.  He lived with his mother and step dad for the last few years in Danbury, NH.  Michael graduated in 2006 from Lebanon High School.

Michael was a proud member of Laborers Union Local 668 and worked in construction.  Michael worked mostly for C.C.B. Construction Services of Westbrook, ME.    Michael worked at many hydroelectric dams and high voltage substations in New Hampshire and Vermont.  In addition to his regular job, he worked with his cousin, Brian Hastings, on many home sites in the area.  In his free time he liked to hike, kayak, and ride his 4-wheeler.  Michael also made beautiful stained glass works of art as well as furniture and jewelry boxes in his home carpentry shop.

Michael was able to do anything he put his mind into.  He could take anything apart, fix what was broken, and rebuild it.  His favorite music was always playing in his truck or on his phone, whatever he was doing.

Although Michael was hardworking, he always had time for his family and friends and neighbors.  He was always there for anyone who needed his help in any way.  Michael was a free spirit, always true to himself and lived life to the fullest.

Michael leaves behind his mother, Nancy Brown and her husband, Lenny Ryan of Danbury, NH; sisters, Jennifer (Ryan) Nagle and her husband, Andy of Lynn, MA and Bethany (Ryan) Joncas and her husband, Andrew of Cazenovia, NY.  Also one niece, Breagha Nagle of Lynn, MA.  His father, Mike Hastings and his wife, Selena of Grantham, NH, his sisters, Maddie and Josie Hastings of Grantham, NH, his aunt, Donna Smith and grandparents, Fred and Ann Brown, all of Croydon, NH.  Michael also leaves Nicole Calabria of Bridgewater, NH who was his most special friend who cared deeply and did so much for Michael and enjoyed many of Michael's good times.  Michael also leaves many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss his beautiful smile and his keen sense of humor and his many stories of his life's adventures.

He was predeceased by his brother, Nathan Clayton and grandparents, Wilfred Hastings and Pauline Eaklor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Rt. 10, Enfield, NH 03748.
