Patricia A. (Houle) Frye

Newport, NH: Patricia A. Frye, 68, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2016 at home after losing her battle with cancer.  She was born in Newport, NH on January 18, 1948 to Leon and Ellena (Barber) Houle. 
 
She went to Newport schools, then worked at local shoe shops in the area and at Hartford Eichenauer for years until early retirement due to illness at the age of 39.  She then became a stay at home mother and housewife.
 
Patricia enjoyed playing Yahtzee and card games, visiting with family and friends, taking care of her cats and doing word searches.   
 
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, her step-mother Simone Houle, 3 step-brothers, Michael Gobin in 1966, Lawrence Gobin in 2010 and William Gobin in 2014.
 
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter Frye of Newport, NH, daughter Michelle Martin and her partner Arnold Desrosiers, her son Jeffrey and his wife Jessica Frye both of Newport, 2 sisters, Betty Gagnon of Camden, TN and Debra Thibedau of Skowhegan, ME,  half-sister Mary Freeman of Hillsboro, NH, step-sister Rebecca and her husband Philip St. Pierre of Charlestown, NH, sister-in-law Gloria Gobin of Newport, NH, foster children, Pamela Lamott of Claremont, NH, Wanda and her husband Larry Williams of Charlestown, NH, and Kristi Orcutt and her partner Frank Santaw of Newport, NH as well as 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. 
 
Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
 
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 24th from 6-8 P.M. at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, NH.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 25th at 11 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be held following the services at Jeff and Jess' house at 167 N. Main St. in Newport.
