Paul Edward Doiron

Newport, NH: Paul Edward Doiron, 97, formerly from Newport and Claremont died on May 26, 2016 at the Sullivan County Health Care in Unity, NH.

He was born August 14, 1918 in Waltham, MA.  He graduated from Saint Charles High School in Waltham, MA, served in the US Navy during World War II, was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  Paul was an active member of the Knights  of Columbus for more than 30 years.  He was devoted to both his family and his faith. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (Hatch) Doiron, his second wife, Majella Bellevance (Doiron) and his sons, David Doiron and Mark Doiron.

Members of his surviving family include his son, Gary Doiron (Diane) of Newport, NH, his daughter-in-law, Barbara (Brown) Doiron, 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 2-3:30 P.M. with a Memorial Service at 3:30 P.M at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, NH.  Burial will be immediately following in 4 Corners Cemetery in Croydon, NH. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 313 Washington St. Suite 310, Newton, MA 02458 or to Sullivan County Nursing Home, 5 Nursing Home Drive, Stearns 1 Activity Fund, C/O Cecile Currier, Unity, NH 03743.
