Pauline (Laramie) Cunningham

Newport, NH-Pauline (Laramie) Cunningham, 80, of Syndicate Street, died Saturday June 17, 2017 surrounded by family and welcomed into the Lord’s loving embrace.

She was born in Claremont, NH on April 30, 1937 the daughter of Maurice and Antionette (Belliveau) Laramie.

One of nine children, Pauline spent her early years in the Etna/Hanover area and lived most of her life in the Sunapee, Claremont and Newport area.   She held various manufacturing jobs at Split Ball Bearing and Carter’s before obtaining her cosmetology license and opening Sunapee Styling Salon which she operated for 18 years.  Desiring a career change, she opened 103B Clothing Plus Consignment Store with Henry Cunningham which they they operated for several years.  Pauline loved to help people and she enjoyed being a volunteer driver for Southwestern Community Services taking patients to kidney dialysis.  She would spend hours volunteering her time and enjoyed her passengers and others in the waiting area as they would play games and visit with each other.  She was an avid gardener and loved to play cards with family and friends.   Pauline was a born again Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was a member of the Sunshine Baptist Church in Newport.

She was predeceased by siblings, Norman, Donald and Roland Laramie and Mary Jane Dolloph.  Members of her family surviving include four children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; John and his wife, Corynne Cunningham and their children, Anya and Spencer of Raymond, NH; Kristine and her husband, Matthew Pollari and their children, Benjamin and Vanessa of Sunapee, NH, Kelley Odell and her children, Travis and Kenzie of Raleigh, NC and Kimberly and her husband, Bret Dodd and their children, Alexandria and Samantha and her children, Coen and Aveline of Laconia, NH; two stepsons, Steve and his wife, Celeste Cunningham of Quincy, MA and Dale Cunningham of Newport, NH; siblings, Ernest and his wife, Bea Laramie of Claremont, NH, Paul and his wife, Fern Laramie of Grantham, NH, Lorraine and her husband, Harold Slack of Lebanon, NH and Laura and her husband, Sterling Hough of Londonderry, NH; nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to Pauline’s dear friend Nancy Cadenhead and her neighbors, Gail and Edmund Smith, for their care and friendship throughout the years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 15th at 2:00 pm at the Sunshine Baptist Church in Newport, NH.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
