Robert F. Moote

Lempster, NH - Robert F. Moote, 76,  passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 17, 2017 in Lempster, NH after a long illness.

Robert was born on August 12, 1941 in Proctorsville, VT to Charles and Rose (Dashner) Moote. He spent most of his life between Proctorsville, VT and Claremont, NH before settling in Newport, NH. He was a self-employed logger for most of his life and worked at Sturm Ruger in shell-casting for over twenty years. He was a decent mechanic, always tinkering on any machine he could get his hands on. He enjoyed being in the woods, fishing, and taking drives with his boys, no matter the destination.

Robert is predeceased by his parents; sister, Shirley; and brothers, Michael and George.

Robert is survived by his sons, Nicholas and girlfriend Olivia Richardson; and Garrett and girlfriend Tiffany Ash; his stepdaughter, Emily and husband Jon Roy; and brothers, Wayne and Bruce; sisters, Becky, Pat, Jean, Delphia, Zora, and Helen; two grandchildren, Kailyn and Matt; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 22, from 5-7PM at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH, 03773. A graveside service will be held the following day at 11AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Plains Rd., Claremont, NH. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at noon at the Newport's Veteran Club, 118 John Stark Hwy, Newport, NH 03773. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's name can be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Rte 10, Enfield, NH 03748.
