Robert Roy Wagner

March 11, 1960 ~ December 19, 2015 (age 55) 55 Years Old

Bob Wagner:  Husband and Father, Marine, Mason, Man of Honor

Robert Roy Wagner, 55, formerly of Sunapee, New Hampshire and Milford, New Hampshire, died at home in the company of his wife, in Woodbridge, Virginia on  December 19th of complications of a recent illness and hospital stay.  Bob was born in Queens, New York on  March 11, 1960 and lived in Long Island for his first 10 years.  The family briefly moved to Aston, Pennsylvania for a year, and then to Enfield,  Connecticut for four years before finally settling in Sunapee, New Hampshire in early 1976.  Bob was part of a family effort to resurrect the old “Community Store” on Main Street in Sunapee which, under the leadership of Bob’s father (also Bob), re-opened as “Bob’s Community Store”, where the family all worked together for several years.  In 1978, Bob graduated from Sunapee High School and went on to follow his dream of becoming a chef by attending the Culinary Institute of America, graduating in 1981.  In 1983 Bob felt an irresistible pull to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps.   He attended boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina and served in various intelligence assignments at Camp Lejeune,  North Carolina, Little Creek,  Virginia, and 29 Palms California, and also deployed to Okinawa and Camp Fuji, Japan.  Bob achieved the rank of sergeant in the Marine Corps before transferring to the Marine Corps Reserve as a Counterintelligence Agent working at Marine Corps Air Station, South Weymouth, Massachusetts.

After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Bob worked for a number of small restaurants and eventually the Marriott Corporation as a food service director at several locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  In February 1999, he was married to Annmarie Brown, formerly of Nashua, New Hampshire at the Masonic Hall in Milford, New Hampshire.  They settled in Milford with daughter Katherine.  Following the attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001, Bob again felt a pull to serve his country and went to work for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) in Washington, DC as a Counterintelligence/Counter-Terrorism analyst in the newly established Multiple Threat Alert Center (MTAC).  Bob was restless behind a desk and jumped at a chance to attend training to become a surveillance team member.  Bob’s talents were noticed and before long, he was transferred to the NCIS Office of Special Projects (OSP) which focuses on investigating the most serious cases of espionage and other national security crimes.  At OSP he worked both as an analyst and a surveillance specialist.  Bob was credentialed as an investigator and was immensely proud of the work he did on numerous espionage investigations where he helped to neutralize threats to the U.S. Navy and to U.S. national security.

Bob was a Mason.  Bob was a member of the Benevolent Lodge No. 7, Free & Accepted Masons of Milford since 1996, having served the Lodge in several offices including Senior Deacon.   He was also a past member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Nashua.

Bob is survived by his wife Annmarie, daughter Katherine Brown, a step-son, Eric Scales, his mother Dorothy Riley, his brother Tom Wagner, Sister-in-law Jo-Ellen Wagner, nephew Samuel Wagner, and niece Gretchen Wagner.
