Welcome to the memorial page for

Rosella S. (Small) Judkins

June 9, 2016

Rosella S. Judkins, 65, returned to his heavenly home on June 9, 2016 after a valiant battle with a Cancer. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Rosella was born to Edson and Glenna Small, In Brattleboro, VT. The youngest of three children.  Her Sister JoAnne Dupuis and her husband Peter of Springfield, VT, and her brother Gary Small and his wife Dianne of Quakertown, PA.

Rosella was well known by the town of Newport, and loved by everyone.  Rose as most called her, worked for the Argus Champion for many years and wrote the column Plain and Simple, a cooking and recipe sharing.  Cooking and family was her passion.  Later on she would work at the Orion House where she made many friends.  Rose was known to be at most events with her camera in hand.  Most of the kids in town referred to her as Mama Rose.

On the weekends it was nothing for her to look at her Husband Terry and say let’s go.  And they would be off driving and seeing the sites for the day.  It could be a trip through the White Mountains of NH, or out to the coast to see a Light House and walk the Pier at Old Orchard Beach in Maine.

Rosella is survived by her Husband, Terry; Her Daughter April Premo and Husband Robert of Newport; Her Son Kieth Martin and Wife Laurie, of Claremont; grandchildren Justine Beauchaine and Husband David and their children, Noel, Desiree, Carter, Ava-Lynn Rose Beauchaine of Newport, Kristen and Kieth Martin Jr of Newport, Mia and Gwendolyn Clough of Newport/Pittsfield, and Ethen Martin of Claremont, and Many, Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She is preceded in death by her Father, Edson Small, and Daughter Melissa.

Rose’s memorial will be at the United Methodist Church of Newport June 25th, at 1pm.  Reverend Nancy will officiate the service. The family will be holding a Pot Luck get together after at her Nieces house at 41 Oak street in Newport.  The family asks for all flower donations to be made to the Church for the service, or in Lieu of flowers, a donation be made to help with expenses. There will be no burial at this time.
