Ruth E. (Fowler) Hastings

Sunapee, NH: Ruth E. Hastings, 90, died on August 24, 2016 after a period of declining health.  She was born on May 27, 1926 in Newport, NH to the late Roy E. and Zelda (Aiken) Fowler.  She has lived in Sunapee since 1945 when she married her late husband, Arthur Hastings. 

Ruth grew up in Newport and attended Newport schools.  She enjoyed nature and animals.  She liked to laugh and make everyone around her laugh.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband Arthur A. Hastings, and siblings, Edwin, Richard, Helen, Roy, Pearl, Carl, and Sylvia.

She is survived by her son, Arlyn Hastings and his wife Sandra of Sunapee, a sister-in-law Betty Fowler of Paramount, CA, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Valley Human Society at 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee.
