Scott D. Stone

Newport, NH: Scott D. Stone, 43, died on August 13, 2016 at Brattleboro, VT Memorial Hospital after a courageous 8 month battle with brain cancer.  He was born on April 3, 1973 in Newport, NH to the late Scott E. and Terri A. (Hebert) Stone. 
 
Scott went to Newport High School and has spent most of his life in the area.  He had been working the past 9 years as a manager at WalMart.  Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked being in the outdoors.  He had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh.  He loved animals, especially his cat, Boo. 
 
Scott was predeceased by his parents.  He is survived by his former wife, Laura Stone of Massachusetts, sisters, Lori Hodgdon of Newport, NH and Michelle Bevilacqua of Easley, SC, niece, Amanda Colburne of Simpsonville, SC, nephews, Ethan Willey of Denver, CO and Cody Hodgdon of Newport, NH and many members of his extended family.
 
Memorial contributions in Scott's name may be made to brain cancer research.
 
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 2 P.M. at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, NH.  Immediately following the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Newport Moose Lodge on Golf Club Road off of the Unity Road.
