Sherry Renee Hess

May 18, 1973 ~ January 17, 2017 (age 43) 43 Years Old

Croydon, NH - Sherry Renee Hess, 43, of Reeds Mill Road passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 17th, 2017, after a lifelong battle with chronic kidney disease. Her struggles here on Earth are over and she is now at home in heaven, within His open arms and undying love.

Born in Claremont, NH on May 18th, 1973, Sherry grew up in Newport, NH and graduated from Newport High School. While she worked a few odd jobs here and there, her true profession in life was providing love and joy to her family and those around her. She was a devout member of Bow Baptist Church in Weathersfield, VT.

Sherry was one of a kind. You could not leave her presence without cracking a smile from her plethora of jokes and one-liners. She was, in simplest terms, crafty. She absolutely loved to crochet and could often be found whipping out a creation behind her favorite hooks. Her craftiness wasn't just in yarn, she could also be found making wonderful dishes in the kitchen. An avid outdoor person, you might stumble upon her fishing, camping, or even metal detecting  - though the latter was extremely unfruitful. But best of all, Sherry was devoted to her family. Nothing could bring her more joy than spending time with little Gordon or just hanging out with whoever stumbled into the house. Caring isn't enough to describe Sherry. She would give you the shirt off her back without batting an eye and look for more ways to help you. The world is a little bit darker without her warmth in it.

Sherry was predeceased by her father, Ricky Gene Hess, and her grandparents.

Surviving family members include her mother, Sandra (Houde) Hess of Croydon; son, Aaron Hess of Croydon; daughters, Shantel Scanlon and her fiancé Gordon Noyes III of Croydon, and Stephanie Scanlon and her significant other Joseph Poquette of Croydon; sister, Atonya Hart and her husband Andrew of Unity; her favorite niece, Andrea Hart of Unity; grandson, Gordon Noyes IV of Croydon, and a little grandbaby on the way.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home to help the family with expenses. Donations may also be made at: https://www.gofundme.com/dmnfp5t4

A church service and burial will be held at a later date in the spring. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements.
