On Friday night, September 1st, Viola Louise (Doxter) White passed from this world at the age of 92.
She was born November 08, 1924 in Newport, NH, the daughter of Robert Doxter and Mary Louise Tarrien. Viola was raised on a farm in Sunapee, NH with her three brothers Richard, Alfred, and Leo. She worked for many companies in the Newport area including Dorr Woolen and Sturm-Ruger Gun Corporation before she found her niche in the payroll department at Dartmouth College where she worked until she retired.
She is survived by her sons, Kim George White, his wife Jean and his children Jennifer and Conrad, son Bradley Robert White, his wife Barbara and their children Ian and Lauren.
She was predeceased by her husband Toivo White (in 1983), her brothers Leo, Alfred, and Richard, and granddaughter Jesse Denali White.
During the past ten years Viola received compassionate care at Summer Crest Assisted Living and The Sullivan County Home. Her family would like to extend their extreme appreciation to the staff of these facilities for their patience and love.
Viola lived her life never letting the world get the best of her. She was proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed having them visit her at her house, taking them to the concerts on the common, out for ice cream, and Mass on Sunday morning.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday September 8th 6-8pm at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home. Mass is Saturday September 9th at the St. Joachim Mission Catholic Church in Sunapee, NH from 10-11am. Immediately following the Mass, internment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport beside her loving husband. We will have a gathering to celebrate her life after the graveside ceremony at the Lake Sunapee Baptist Church (the former Hope Fellowship Church) on Church Street in Newport. All are welcome.
