To my family, I send my heartfelt condolences in our time of great sorrow at our loss of such a great man. I wish I could be present in attending my Grandfather's final ceremony of passage, but do to time constraints and military obligations here in Korea I am unable. Please know that I grieve beside you all even though I cannot be there with you. To my Father, I know that this has hit you extremely hard but know that in time as with all of life's events of this nature, the pain will lesson. I love you all and my prayers are with you. To my Grandfather's friends, thank you for your companionship, I know your lives were enriched having known him.

I am Ruth''s niece from Vermont. I was so sorry to hear about Walter''s passing. I''ll always remember how gracious, warm and understanding he was. We have had some great conversions and I always enjoyed seeing Walter and Ruth''s when they visited my folks in Vermont. When Ruth and Walter were in FL. they were my folks companions. In closing, "they don''t make them much better then Walter." I will truly miss him. Much regards, Nellie
