William D. Clement, Sr.

Newport, NH - William D. Clement, Sr., 83, died on March 24, 2016 at Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity.  He was born on December 7, 1932 in Sunapee, NH to the late Wilson J. and Mary R. (McElreavy) Clement. 

William spent his entire life in Newport, working construction, doing tree work for Asplundh, and finally for Sturm-Ruger for 22 years.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the Newport Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post 25, and the Newport Forester's Club. 

William was predeceased by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois A. (Legacy) Clement in 1997. 

He was also predeceased by 3 brothers, Albert, Arthur and Charlie Clement, and a sister, Ellen Partlow.

He is survived by a son, William Jr. and his wife Susan, daughter, Debbie Brunt and her husband Robert, Sr., daughter, Lisa Fletcher and her husband Warren, a sister, Dee Armstrong and her husband Richard, all of Newport, grandchildren, Jeremy, Robert, Jr., Daniel, Jason, Bryan and Brittany, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Aeva, and Marley-Mae and several nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sullivan County Nursing Home Activities Fund at 5 Nursing Home Drive, Unity, NH 03743. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 2, 2016 from 1 - 6 P.M. at the Newport Moose Lodge on Golf Club Drive off the Unity Road.
