Beverly (Monckton) Newton

Newport, NH - Beverly (Monckton) Newton passed away peacefully at the Sullivan County Health Care facility on July 31, 2017 after a brief illness.

Beverly was born on December 16, 1929, the daughter of Bernard Monckton and Gladys Sprague. She grew up in Newport and graduated from Newport High School in 1947. While working for New England Telephone & Telegraph as an operator, she met and later married Carson J. Newton of Conway. Bev later worked for the Gauthier & Woodard Insurance Company until her retirement.

Beverly was pre-deceased by her parents, a brother, Robert Monckton. and her husband, Carson. She is survived by her step-sister Regina of Vermont, step-son Donald Newton and wife Betty of Conway, step-daughter Betsy A. Packard of Nashua and Freedom, sister-in-law Gloria Monckton of Alabama, and cousin Mark Shepard and wife Beverly of Newport, as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

By Beverly's request, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to Hospice at HCS, 33 Arborway, Charleston, NH 03603.

The family would like to thank all the hospice providers, as well as the wonderful staff involved in Bev's loving care during her stay at the Sullivan County Health Care facility.

The Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
