Newport, NH - Cheryl (Hudson) Partlow, 69, of Newport, NH died at DHMC after a brief illness on April 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Claremont, NH to Raymond and Phyllis (Cayea) Hudson on January 12, 1949, Cheryl grew up in Newport, graduating from Towle High School. She spent many years working at Dorr Woolen, but thoroughly enjoyed the years she worked in retail at Jiffy Mart and management at Cobblepond Farms. She married the love of her life, Roland Partlow in 1969, sharing 49 years together and bringing their four beloved children into the world.
Cheryl loved to socialize, especially during Bingo, and was happy to spend time with family and friends. She recently found a great interest in crafts, creating many wonderful things, but her true passion was helping cats. Together, Cheryl and Roland fed and provided for many strays in the neighborhood, all while spoiling their own cat, Snickers. Her family described her as "the kindest, strongest, and sweetest woman imaginable."
While never obtaining a full Jehovah Witness membership, Cheryl was a devout believer. May her soul await in the earthly paradise.
Cheryl is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Ronald Hudson. She is survived by her loving husband, Roland Partlow; sons, David Hudson and his wife Tammy of Rhode Island, Roland Partlow, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Newport, NH, and Shawn Partlow and his fiancé Tabatha Coleman of Windsor, VT; daughter, Rolanda Shepard and husband Wendell of Charlestown, NH; brother, Randy Hudson of Newport, NH; sister, Sharon Beal of Oregon; sister-in-law, Lola Rogers; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 6 PM at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 6 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport, NH.
