Cora Ella McLain Hudson Frenette
March 18, 1922 (Miminegash, Prince Edward Island) - September 4, 2017 Newport, NH)
Attended grade school in Townsend, MA
Attended Stevens High School, Claremont, NH, class of 1940.

After high school, Cora worked as a bookkeeper and around the end of WWII, the two McLain Sisters, she and her youngest sister, played guitar and sang over the local radio station.

In June of 1944, she was married to Alfred Hudson, then an army medic, in Brooklyn, NY; the wedding was paid for by the local Pepsi Cola company for an advertisement venue.

Early in their marriage, Cora and Alfred lived in Searsmont, ME, then in a cottage overlooking the bay in Belfast, ME. Although doctors told her she was unable to have children, in November of 1949 she gave birth to her son in Claremont, NH, while with relatives, then returned to the home in Belfast. By 1952 they'd moved to Claremont where she gave birth to her daughter, again in November (thus her son's quip that his "parents got together the same time each year and twice it took"). They moved onto a farm in Claremont in June of 1953, selling hay, eggs, garden produce and maple syrup to the small local stores; their main income, however, was from Alfred's employment at Joy Manufacturing.

Following her divorce, finalized in 1964, Cora was married to Paul Frenette until the early 1970s. She never remarried but worked as a live-in caretaker for the aged and handicapped in the Concord, NH, area until her retirement by the 1990s whereupon she resided in Pennacook, NH. Suffering successive strokes, she made her residence at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport, NH, IN 1998.

She was predeceased by her ex-husbands, Alfred C. Hudson (d. 1974) and Paul Frenette; sisters, Emma McLain Dupree (d. 1990) and Myra McLain Filion (d. 2015); brothers, Joseph J.A. McLain II (d. 2011) of Salisbury, NY, and Charles E. McLain (d. 7/28/2017) of Ansonia, CT.

She is survived by her son, Harlan A. Hudson, Winnisquam, NH; the residence of her daughter, Coreen E. Hudson Heath Davison, has been in Sebring, FL; and grandchildren, Sophia, Audon, Krystal, Korey, Eric, and Kim; several nieces and nephews in New Hampshire, Tennessee, Washington and Norway.
