David C. Ferris, 82, of Newport, NH passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017. He was born in Norwalk, CT on August 10, 1934. The son of David and Margaret (Gribosky) Ferris. He raised his family in Guilford, CT, moved to Sunapee, NH in 1981, and then moved to Newport, NH in the year of 2000.

He enjoyed his family, a good game of horseshoes, fishing with boys on Long Island Sound, vegetable gardening, telling his life stories, and feeding the birds. He was a hard working man. Always provided for his family by working on the farm and building homes.

The loved ones he left behind includes 2 of his surviving siblings: Frank Ferris and Florence Tagliaferro. His eight children in descending order: David Ferris III; Bernard Ferris; Ronald Ferris; Brian Ferris and his wife Christine; Pamela Ferris; Jane White and her husband David; Patricia Greenwood and her husband Patrick; and Diane Callum and her husband Lance. He also left behind 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way.

There will be a Memorial Service/Celebration of Life held at The Moose Lodge; 33 Unity Road, Newport, NH 03773 on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 12:00PM. Lunch to follow at the same location.
