Diana L. (Wesley) Vaine

Newport, NH: Diana L. Vaine, 72, died on January 2, 2019 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a period of declining health.  She was born on August 18, 1946 in Keene, NH to the late George and Violet (Willette) Wesley. 

Diana grew up in Swanzey, moving to the Newport area in 1986 after meeting her husband, Richard Smith.  She worked at Encore Shoe before spending 20 years in the accounting department at Howe Motors in Claremont.  She was very proud that she earned her GED while working at Encore.  Diana enjoying reading and spending time with her family.  Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

To know Diana was to love her.  She was an amazing, sweet lady who took care of everyone and loved deeply.  She will be sorely missed by all.

Diana was predeceased by her parents and by her husband, Richard Smith in 2016.

Surviving family include her children, Valerie Dessert of Newport and Tracey Harris of Keene, children of her heart, Sandy Silver of MA, Mike Smith of Sunapee, and Coleen Connolly of FL, brothers, Dennis Wesley of VA and Michael Wesley of Claremont, sister, Karen Wesley of Keene,  grandchildren, Jessica and Tanner Dessert, Jonathon Taylor, Nathanyelle and Nikkole Guyette, Sonya Lebrun, Megan and Mykal Smith, Heather and Kyle Connolly, Melissa Watson and Ryan Silver, great-grandchildren, Jack Watson and Maliea Guyette, and other extended family members. 

Per Diana's wishes, there will be no funeral service.

Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
