Donald DeMayo Obituary

Donald DeMayo, 88, son of John DeMayo and Dorothy Hamlin peacefully passed away with family by his side on Saturday January 27th 2018 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.  

Donald grew up in Newport NH, attended St. Mary's School and Towle High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1949 - 1951. Don drove bus for Condos Bus Lines in the 1950's. Donald had a 30-year career at Joy Manufacturing and worked for New Hampshire Ball Bearing in the 1990's. He enjoyed waterskiing on Lake Sunapee, playing the organ, and visiting with family and friends.  He attended St Patrick's church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club. He served as the Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club in Concord 1997-1998.

His daughter Lauri Ann DeMayo who passed away in 2005 is the angel who will guide him on his final journey. 

Donald is also predeceased by the aunt and uncle who raised him - Mae and Spyro Condos, his mother and father, his grandfather Francis Dimeos, his brothers Charlie, Richard, John, and Francis, and his sisters Margaret and Josephine, and daughter-in-law Sharon - wife of Jeffrey DeMayo.

Donald is survived by his children Donna and her husband Doug Smith, Jeffrey DeMayo, Karen DeMayo, and Pamela Locke.  His surviving grandchildren are Sean Locke, Leann, Jason, and Daniel DeMayo. His surviving great-grandchildren are Jessica, Justin, and Camilla DeMayo. He is also survived by his sister Mary Mosconas and many nieces and nephews.

A Catholic funeral will be held at 11 am on Saturday April 7th at St. Patrick's Church 32 Beech Street, Newport NH. 
Immediately following Mass will be the graveside service at St. Patrick's Cemetery on Summer Street in Newport. 
A catered celebration of life will begin at 1 pm at Assumption Hall, (next to the church). Come with a story you would like to share about Donald.
