Donald R. Glidden

Newport, NH: Donald R. Glidden, 70, of Maple Street died at his home on April 5, 2019 surrounded by loving family and friends after a period of declining health.  He was born on October 18, 1948 in Island Falls, ME to the late Stanley Earl and Eleanor Arlene (Ford) Glidden. 

Don has spent most of his life in Newport working at Micro Precision, Sturm-Ruger, and Interstate Manufacturing.  He was a proud Marine, having served his country in Vietnam.  He was a pet lover and enjoyed fixing various things.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

Don was predeceased by his parents, and his son, Keith Glidden, as well as several brothers and sisters.

Surviving family include his daughter, Kathie Gardner of Hartford, VT, siblings, Kenneth Glidden of Newport, Patricia Glidden of Newport, and Pamela Joslin of Claremont, his grandchildren, Jacob Marsh, Justin Marsh and his fiancé, Kassady Smith, Gail Gardner, and Garrison Gardner, and his great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Elizabeth and Theodore Roy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

Burial with military honors will be Wednesday, April 10th at 2 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport NH.
