Eleanor Mae (Barker) Trommsdorff

Eleanor Mae Trommsdorff a Goshen NH resident passed away peacefully of natural causes while at New London Hospital Thursday evening November 21,2019.

Eleanor is survived by her brother Harold Barker Jr. of Florida, her loving son Mark Trommsdorff, Grandson Stephen Trommsdorff both of Florida, and Granddaughter Stephanie Homburg of Wisconsin.  She had three Greatgrandchildren, namesake June Eleanor Trommsdorff of Florida and AJ and Sam Homburg of Wisconsin.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Harold and Lucy Barker and sister Mary Barker, all of Goshen NH, her husband Fred Trommsdorff of Goshen and her daughter Linda Trommsdorff of PA.

Eleanor was a graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill NC and retired from Sears and Roebuck after more than 20 years running the shipping and receiving department at one of the largest Sears stores in the country in Hicksville, NY on Long Island. Eleanor moved to Goshen, NH to care for her elderly parents and sister and was soon after joined by husband Fred after his retirement from Eastern Air Lines after nearly 40 years.

Eleanor became a resident of Horseshoe Pines Assisted Living Facility in Goshen in 2015, where she happily spent the last 4 years in a caring and loving family environment.

Eleanor was an active member of the Goshen Community Church, the DAR, and the Little Red Schoolhouse Society. She participated in the restoration of the Goshen Grange Hall. She was a lifetime alumnus supporter of UNC.

Eleanor was a very loving and caring daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a friend to everyone she met. She maintained many lifetime relationships through visits and correspondence with people all over the country. She was a very quiet person, well known and loved for her generosity, big heart, quick wit and intelligence. She will be missed by many.

There will a Celebration of Life Gathering Saturday December 14^th at the Goshen Community Church between 11:00 am-1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations to one of the following:  Goshen Community Church, 34 Brook Rd., Goshen, NH 03752 or Lake Sunapee Hospice and VNA, PO Box 2209, New London, NH 03257.
