Evelyn C. (Holt) Williams

Newport, NH - Evelyn C. Williams, 87, passed away at New London Hospital on December 30, 2019 after a brief illness.

She was born on August 27, 1932 in Bay Shore, NY to the late Philip and Helen (Oberle) Holt.

Upon moving to Newport in the 1960's, Evelyn opened Rob-Lyn Studios, where she taught ceramic classes for many years with her husband, Robert Williams.

Evelyn was an organized individual who preferred things went her way, but also gave freely with her generous spirit, without wanting in return.  She enjoyed planting flowers and especially loved puzzles.  Her family remembers her as nurturing, loved by all, and the "best Nana ever."

She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Robert Williams; her son, Robert Williams, Jr.; and her brother,  Philip Holt.  Surviving family includes her children, Mark Williams and his wife, Cindy, Connie Simmons and her husband, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Brenda Williams; grandchildren, Matt Simmons and his wife, Beth, Julie Osgood, David Williams and his fiancée, Patty, Brad Williams, and Jason Williams; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tucker, Evelyn, Conor, Lydia, Cameron, Rowan, and Robbie; and her faithful dog companion, Bandit.

Services will be held at a later date in the spring.
