Frank M. Pitkin

November 23, 1963 ~ December 31, 2017 (age 54) 54 Years Old

Newport, NH: Frank M. Pitkin, Jr., 54, died suddenly of a heart attack on December 31, 2017 surrounded by his family.  He was born on November 23, 1963 in Newport, NH to Donna (Howe) Pitkin and the late Frank M. Pitkin, Sr.   

 

Frank grew up in Newport graduating from Newport High School.  He worked as an assistant lab technician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.  Frank was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and volunteered at the Newport Chamber of Commerce.

 

Frank was a family man who loved spending time with them.  He enjoyed volleyball at the Rec Department, golfing with his wife and children, and bowling. Frank loved mowing the lawn, often cutting the grass three times every week. Family vacations and boating with friends and family were always a great joy for Frank.  He also enjoyed capturing photos with his phone and texting in the family group chat. He will forever be cherished and remembered as the founding father of the family fry group.   

 

Frank was predeceased by his father, Frank Pitkin, Sr., and maternal grandparents,  Sonny and Sally Howe. 

 

Surviving family members include his wife, Beth (Cornish) Pitkin of Newport, sons, Michael and Matthew Pitkin of Newport, mother, Donna Pitkin and her longtime companion, Bob Evans, brother, Mark Pitkin and his wife, Lisa, brothers-in-law, Stephen Cornish and Mike Duffy, Keith Cornish and his wife, Meta, and Jeff Cornish and his wife, Lisa, in-laws, Floyd and Sandy Cornish, niece, Brittany Pitkin and nephew, Bryan Pitkin.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's name may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Huntington's Disease Unit at Mass General Hospital Development Office

Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 4, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street in Newport.  A celebration of his life will take place on the following day, Friday, at 11 AM at the Sugar River Bank Community Room with a reception to follow.
