Goshen, NH - George E. Ayotte, 89, of Goshen, NH passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2018.
Born on December 26, 1928 to the late Alfred and Daisy (Morrell) Ayotte, George grew up and spent most of his life in Goshen.
Deciding he was done with school, George joined the Army and served in the Korean War. When he fulfilled his military service, he returned home and worked in construction and logging. He was always on the go, even cutting wood up to two weeks ago. You could find him waterskiing, where he'd be on top of a pyramid, or playing county music and writing his own songs. He loved to travel and often talked about his trip to Alaska. Brave and courageous, George once saved a man's life from drowning. He will be sorely missed.
George is predeceased by his parents; his loving wife, Dorothy (Walker) Ayotte, brothers, Roy Ayotte and Kenneth Ayotte and his wife, Jeanette; sister, Gloria Kermidas; and sister-in-law, Cynthia (Lowell) Ayotte. He is survived by his children, Virginia Camber of Unity, William Edgar Ayotte of Winchester, David Ayotte of Goshen, and Alice Davis and her husband, Larry of Unity; brothers, Alfred Albert Ayotte and Robert Ayotte and his wife, Alice of Unity; sisters, Theresa Woods and her husband, Arnold of Nashua and Gail Peterson and her husband, Richard of Pinellas Park, FL; sister-in-law, Helen Ryan Ayotte of Manchester; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Patrick Cemetery in Newport, NH.
