Jane M (Howe) Ronan

Newport, NH: Jane M. Ronan, 91, passed away peacefully at Woodlawn Care Center on Oct 15, 2019. She was born in Stoneham, MA on July 24, 1928 to Robert & Hazel (Barrows) Howe.

After graduating high school she worked in the Boston area where she met and married James Ronan on April 5, 1953.  After moving to NH in 1964, she worked in the Newport school’s teaching reading.  She also worked in the local Newport banks. They retired in Ft. Myers, FL spending 20+ years there. 

She moved back to NH in 2017 residing on Cottage Street in Guild and then moved to Summercrest Senior Living.

Jane enjoyed sewing, bowling, music, dancing, jig saw puzzles and board games.  She was an avid reader and passed her love of reading on to her children.

Looking her best at all times was important to her right up to the end.

She is survived by her six children, Kathleen Dykeman of Newbury, NH, Christopher & Judy Ronan of Christiansburg, VA, Pamela & John Brown of Newport, Sean Ronan of Newport, Lucinda & Steve Austin of Fairfield, CT and Amy & Barry Wade of Newport, brother Robert Howe of Wells, ME & Palm Desert, CA, sister Priscilla & Ernie Brown of Newburyport, MA, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, sister Pauline Coates, brother Richard Howe, and son-in-law Robert Dykeman.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 20, 2019 at 1 PM at the Croydon Flat Church on Turnpike Road in Croydon, NH.  A reception will follow at the church.
