Lorraine E. (Guimond) Dupuis

Lorraine E. Dupuis (Guimond), 72, of Newport NH, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 after a long event with illness.

Born September 14, 1945 in Newport, NH, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Guimond and Dorothy Guimond both of Newport, NH.

She is predeceased by her late husband George (Steve) Dupuis (2004) and brothers; Richard and Lawrence Guimond. She is survived by her Sister, Diana Hayes of MA., Brothers, Henry and Herbert Guimond of NH; one son, David Babbitt and wife Michelle of NH; daughter, Kathleen Boyle and husband Darrell Boyle of NH; daughter, Stephanie Dupuis of California; grandchildren, Brandon, Hannah, and Emily Babbitt and Dylan Boyle.

Lorraine was a native of Newport and a dedicated 34 year employee at Sturm Ruger Co., employed as a senior checkering tech until she retired. She was affectionately called “Momsie” by her peers and loved her close coworkers.  Lorraine’s unlimited love for family and kindness to friends was evident in every smile and embrace she gave. Family gatherings were her most favorite times. Her quick wit and warm laughter was uplifting and contagious. She loved her animals, Peppy her canary and Ferguson her beloved cat.

All are welcome to attend her calling hours to be held at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St, Newport, NH on Saturday February 3, 2018 from 9 to 11 AM.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Beech Street in Newport with Fr. Michael Monette, celebrant.  Burial will immediately follow the service at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1:00 PM at Lorraine’s home at 121 S. Main St.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
