Margaret J. Patten

March 23, 1942 ~ September 8, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Keene, NH: Margaret J. Patten, 75, passed away surrounded by her family’s love on September 8, 2017 at the Keene Center after a long illness.  She was born on March 23, 1942 in Walpole, NH. 

Margaret grew up in the Newport and Claremont area.  She spent many years in California before moving to Keene, NH 17 years ago.  Margaret was a hard worker all her life.  She was tough and resilient with a wonderful sense of humor until the very end.  Margaret loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She will be dearly missed. 

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, John and Dorcus Heino, her husband, Barry in 2005, her son, Mark Cayea in 1962 and her daughter, Debra “Debbie” White in 2011, and brothers, John, William, and Joseph Scanlon. 

Surviving family members include three daughters and four “sons”  Kim and Dennis Pratt of Fitzwilliam, NH, Lori and Eric Hovren of Redlands, CA, Robin and Armand Tambouris of Twin Peaks, CA, Ty White and partner Sonya Fletcher of Marlborough, NH, siblings, Sandra Tebo and her husband Ronald, Sr., of Ware, MA, James Heino and his wife Bonnie of Charlestown, NH, Tammy Brode and her husband Jeffrey of Claremont, NH, sisters-in-law, Bonnie Scanlon of Newport, NH and Carol Clayton of Claremont, NH  grandchildren, Michael White, Shayna and Joe Pelkey, Taylor, Lindsay, and Bailey Pratt, Hanna, Jenna and Aiden Hovren, Destiny and Ashley Tambouris, great-grandchildren, AutumRose, Austen, Gage, and Brock White, Lila and Mason Pelkey, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Genesis Keene Center for the wonderful care they gave to her. Those that were really close to her and her family – thank you for all that you did. The family would also like to thank the Hospice staff for all that they did to support Margaret and her family during her transition from this life. You all were a tremendous help.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 14, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St. Newport, NH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 11 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newport with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery with Fr. Michael Monette, celebrant.
