Michael E. Patten

Michael Emery Patten, 64, of Claremont, NH, passed away at his home on August 27, 2017. Born September 16, 1952, at Newport Hospital in Newport, NH, to Ronald and Shirley (Elfstrom) Patten. He was a 1970 graduate of Newport High School, where he played baseball and ran cross country. He spent the majority of his life living and working in Newport, and spent many years playing guitar in local bands. He worked at Roymal Coatings, Town of Newport Water/Sewer Department, Corbett Oil Company, Town of Newport Highway Department, City Auto Sales, and The Rental Center. He was especially proud of designing the handicap ramp at the Newport Town Office building.

Michael was predeceased by his father in 2002.

He is survived by his mother Shirley of Newport, his brother Dennis (Sue) Patten of Pembroke, his sister Kathleen (Rick) Holmes of Newport, his daughter Michelle (Jay) Renaud and granddaughters Annabelle and Sydney of Merrimack, and his estranged daughter Jennifer.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and heart of gold.

There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
