Olin "Pete" Perry, Jr.

Newport, NH: Olin "Pete" Perry, Jr. died on March 22, 2017 at Hanover Terrace Nursing Home in Hanover, NH after a period of declining health.  He was born in Newport, NH on December 18, 1931 to the late Olin Perry, Sr. and Aleada (Bell) Perry. 

Pete graduated from Newport High School in 1949.  He joined the Newport Fire Department in 1950 and retired in 1980 as Captain.  He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War from 1951 - 1955.  He worked at Shop-Rite Supermarket as a meat cutter before moving on to Pine Tree Castings and then retired from Sturm-Ruger. 

He was married to Janice (Radford) Perry on June 4, 1955 and they enjoyed almost sixty-two years together.  They raised two sons, Peter Perry of Newport and Michael Perry, who predeceased him.  Pete also leaves behind a granddaughter, Amanda Perry and a sister, Beverly Zullo of Newport.  His family loved him unconditionally and will miss him greatly.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday March 26, 2017 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Newport, NH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following day, Monday at 10 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newport with burial to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
