Newport, NH: Paulyne (Shore) Avery, 87, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 27, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1931 in Arlington, MA to the late Zachary and Josephine (Clarke) Shore.
Paulyne grew up in Massachusetts graduating from Arlington High School with the class of 1947. She married John I. Avery, Jr. on September 18, 1948 and settled in Newport. Paulyne worked as a stitcher for Sportwell, at W.T. Grant's in Claremont, at Howland's Store in Newport, and in the Newport School Cafeteria for 37 years.
Paulyne sang in the Area Choir for many years and participated in plays at the Newport Opera House. She made gowns, uniforms, and banners for Newport High School and was a communicant of the Church of the Epiphany in Newport. She also enjoyed drawing, painting, and reading.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband, John I. Avery, Jr.
Surviving family members include children, Sharron King of Claremont, John Avery, III of Newport, R. Lance Avery of Lempster, and Camala Bailey and her husband, James, of Lempster, a brother, Donald Shore and his wife, Pauline, of Chelmsford, MA, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 AM in Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee.
