Priscilla Sanborn Obituary

Priscilla Betsy Sanborn. Age 80.  Sunapee.  
Died Friday January 25th  at the Sullivan County Nursing Home . Priscilla was born June 7th 1938 in North Farms, Connecticut. Daughter of Albert G. Thorpe and Virginia E. Paddock Thorpe.   


Priscilla's family moved to North Newport, New Hampshire in 1956. Priscilla worked in the Newport Shoe Shop as a laster and later transferred to Sportwelt Shoe shop in Newport and worked until 1958 when she married her husband, Donald. Priscilla and Donald were married January 24th 1958 and built their own home on Bradford Road in Sunapee. Priscilla was a stay-at-home mom and later took care of her grandchildren. She then worked as a lunch lady at the Simonds school cafeteria in Warner.


Priscilla enjoyed taking long walks in the woods and going to car races and working in her garden and doing crafts. Priscilla loved playing the organ for her church and participating in choir.  She seemed to be able to play any instrument any one handed to her without any music!  She was very talented and made several wedding cakes and other special craft projects.

Priscilla is survived by her husband Donald E Sanborn of Sunapee one daughter Cindy Enos of Croydon, granddaughter Amanda Buck and her husband Keith and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Emma, Eden, and Sarai living in Indiana, granddaughter Heather Altman and her husband Zeke of Colorado, step-brother Robert Thorpe and his wife Linda of Texas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Priscilla was also predeceased by three brothers Norman, Eugene, and Albert Jr, sisters Beverly, Cora, and Virginia.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time.
