Rodney R Dunham

Newport, NH:  Rodney R. Dunham, 79, passed away after a long illness on December 17, 2017 at Valley Regional Hospital.

Rod was born on March 22, 1938 to Andrew Dunham and Gertrude (Forest) Bressette. Rodney grew up and attended schools in Lebanon, NH.  After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1957, Rod joined the United States Air Force, where he served for four years.  He went on to become self-employed in carpentry, building homes and remodeling contracts, for many years.

Rod enjoyed country music.  In fact, he enjoyed singing so much that he had his own band.  He and his band played with many of the top country artists of the 70's.  He also worked at the local radio station as an on-air radio personality, at WCNL in Newport in the 70's and Kixx in Newport in the 80's. He was a proud member of the American Legion.

Surviving family members include his son, Phillip Gibbs of Stokesdale, NC, daughter, Kim Soboleski, many grandchildren, including Codie Gibbs of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Braydon Gibbs of NC, many great-grandchildren, and other loving family members. 

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Patrick Parish in Newport on June 25, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.  A graveside service with military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 107 Renihan Meadows, Lebanon, NH 03766 at noon.
