Ruth Amy (Jones) Quimby

Newport, NH: Ruth Amy Quimby, 79, died peacefully at her home on Park View Street on July 10, 2017.  She was born on April 4, 1938 in Bradford, NH to the late Cyrus A. and Alma C. (Fisher) Jones.  

Ruth was raised and educated in the Bradford area graduating from Simonds Free High School in 1957.  She and her husband raised their family in the area and she has lived here all of her life.  Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 34 years in 1993, Euclide Quimby.

She is also predeceased by her son, Randy Quimby, brothers, Frank, Charlie, and Fred Jones, and sisters, Linnie Howe and Marie Cummemy.

Surviving family members include sons, Frank Quimby  and wife Patty of Newport and Euclide Quimby and wife Anne of Claremont, sister, Marjorie Tellor, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home on Saturday July 15, 2017 at 2 PM with calling hours from 1 PM until the start of the service. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow at the Forester's Club in Newport.
