Wayne M Simoneau

Newport, NH-Wayne M. Simoneau, Sr., 74, of Laurel Street, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born on April 14, 1943 to Roland and Elizabeth I. (Chambers) Simoneau, Wayne was a lifelong resident of Newport. He worked for Sturm Ruger for thirty eight years in various departments. An avid outdoorsman, Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He was a great neighbor and would help by plowing driveways and taking care of lawns. He loved to get people going and knew just how to push the right buttons, especially by torturing his sons with his renditions of Freddy Fender songs.

He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Willis) Simoneau; his parents; and his brother, Raymond Simoneau. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Wayne and Peggy Simoneau, Jr. of Newport, NH and Ron and Cassy Simoneau of Charlestown, NH; and four grandchildren, Joe and Josh Simoneau and Randy and Chelsea Simoneau.

Friends may call at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. A service will immediately follow at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
