Alan C. Menard

Sunapee, NH: Alan C. Menard, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on August 9, 2025 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on May, 30 1957 in Newport, NH to the late Renald and Lorna (MacLean) Menard. 

Alan was a man of many interests and talents who was always busy. Over the years Alan was a mechanic, gifted carpenter, worked at Hubert's in New London, and a realtor at Harbor Light Realty.  Alan's real passion was helping everyone especially children, which lead him to pursue a degree in Social Services. As a Social Worker, he volunteered, worked, and previously served as a Board of Director at Orion House. He continued his career at North American Family Institute, State of NH Department of Health and Human Services, a paraprofessional at the Lempster School and most recently was helping Camp Coniston in several capacities. He served his country in the Coast Guard and learned to be an amazing cook, along with his love of travel. 

Alan loved gardening, especially growing flowers and vegetables, fishing, sports, family vacations and traveling. He enjoyed working on cars and rebuilt a Studebaker with his son. Alan loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandson Zach. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Alan was predeceased by his parents. Surviving family members include his wife of more than 41 years, Heide Hubert-Menard of Sunapee; sons, Michael (wife, Katherine) Menard and Kyle Menard, both of Sunapee; grandson, Zachary Menard; siblings, Howard Menard, Norma Menard, Alex Menard, and Donald (wife, Amber) Menard; sisters-in-law, Rita Hubert and Monika (husband, Tung) Nguyen; brothers-in-law, Guenter (wife, Kathy) Hubert and Tom (wife, Stephanie) Hubert; and many extended family members.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Newport.
