Al was born November 8, 1931 in Waltham, Mass.  He attended schools in Waltham, MA, Claremont, NH, and Towle High School in Newport, NH where he graduated in 1951.

Following graduation, Al entered the Navy and served on the USS Des Moines.  After completing his service he began a lifelong-career with New England Tel. & Tel., installing central office equipment throughout New England until his retirement in 1990.

Al loved golf, was the president of John H. Cain Golf Club in Newport, NH for many years and enjoyed golfing in North Carolina and Florida in his retirement.  He was active in the Woodlake Property Owners' Association in Vass, NC.  He was a self-taught master woodworker; and his family cherishes the furniture and bowls he made.  There was nothing he couldn't build or fix and he even built his first home in Claremont, NH. He enjoyed sports, camping and building remote-controlled planes and boats.

Al will be remembered for his handyman skills, sense of humor and witty sayings and songs.  He especially enjoyed family trips to Maine and North Carolina.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Joan (Zielinski) Hague, whom he was married to for 67 years, and his three children, Pamela (Hague) LaFountain, her husband Dwight; Alan "Buzz" Hague and his wife, Kerry, all of Newport, NH; and Peter Hague of Peachtree City, GA.

He is also survived by grandchildren Kyle LaFountain and his wife Jenn, Bryan LaFountain and Jaeda Rochford Hague.

He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Edward Hague, Sr., his mother, Gertrude (Fairbanks) Hague Smith, his sister Charlotte (Hague) Lange, and his step-father Felix J. Smith.
