It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Alfred (Sonny) LeBlanc. Sonny passed away at his home in Newport, NH, April 1, 2026. A devoted husband, father, and faithful servant of God. A proud Roman Catholic family man, he lived his life rooted in faith, guided by love, and strengthened by unwavering dedication to those around him.
The son of Joyce Carrier and Alfred LeBlanc, born on September 8, 1942 in Winchendon, MA. He was raised through his teenage years in Fitzwilliam, NH. He met his wife Linda (Betourney) LeBlanc in Winchendon, MA. They were married on May 15, 1964.
Sonny was a man of quiet strength and tireless work ethic, never shying away from responsibility. Proudly serving his country in the Army National Guard, 1961-1967. He moved his family to Claremont, NH in 1966 where he started a drywall business and operated it until he retired in 2005. Through perseverance, he provided for his family with humility and pride, always placing their needs above his own. His hands built not only a livelihood, but a home filled with warmth, laughter and enduring values. Sonny shared his love of the Red Sox, and race cars with all who knew him. Known by many for his quick wit and humour.
Faith was the cornerstone of his life. He found comfort and purpose in the teachings of the Church, leading by example through kindness, generosity, and compassion. He reflected his beliefs in all that he did.
He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Todd and Tedd LeBlanc and daughter Tracey (LeBlanc) Grzanna. Todd's wife Nicole LeBlanc, Tedd's fiance' Gayle Balcom and Tracey's husband Rudy Grzanna. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael LeBlanc, Brandon LeBlanc, Jessica Hooper, Jordyn Sargent, Lindsay Joseph, Geoff LeBlanc, Ryan Grzanna, Austin LeBlanc, Mary Grzanna, Brady Grzanna, Anna LeBlanc, Emma LeBlanc, and Eva LeBlanc. 11 great grand-children, with one expected in May. His sister Patricia LeBlanc Turner and many nephews and nieces.
Though he will be greatly missed, we take comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into eternal rest, embraced by God's grace. His life stands as a testament to faith, hard work and unconditional love. May he rest in peace.
