It is with profound sadness that our family has lost its matriarch, Anna Maria Lockwood. Anna was a mother of four and a beloved Nonna to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She passed peacefully surround by dozens of family at her side.
She was born in Naples, Italy on August 19, 1930. She married a US Sailor and moved to the United States to Salem, New Hampshire on August 6, 1966 with her beloved husband, who she is predeceased by, George Francis Lockwood, Sr., along with her Children Mary Hanson, John Lockwood (deceased), George Francis Lockwood, Jr. and John Charles Lockwood. She worked as a seamstress in Lawrence, Massachusetts before moving to Florida for a short period of time. After her husband’s death, New Hampshire was calling and she moved back to New Hampshire and held numerous jobs which included taking care of the elderly until her mid seventies when she finally retired.
Nonna, as many called her, loved her family with all her heart and took every opportunity to be around her loving family. She loved cooking for family, friends, neighbors and even the local Newport, New Hampshire fire department who loved her food. She lived in Salem, NH, Epsom and finally to her final home of Newport, NH.
A viewing will be held on February 2 between 5-7pm at Chadwick Funeral Services, 235 Main St, New London, New Hampshire. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on February 3 at 11am 724 Main St, New London, New Hampshire. There will be a celebration of life at the church after services are completed.
