Brett H. Ploss

Brett H. Ploss, resident of Newport, New Hampshire, passed away on Friday December 31st, peacefully at home at the age of 63.

Brett Henry Ploss was born on March 12th,1958 in Newport, New Hampshire. Brett and his 4 older siblings were raised by their mother, Grace Ruth Baker-Ploss, and their father, Everett Henry Ploss. Brett graduated from Newport High School with his GED in 1976. He married Donna Marie Tarrien on August 15th, 1977.  He worked alongside his father at Jennison Machine Shop in New London, NH until 1980 and returned in 1983 and continued to work there until February of 2019.

Brett enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He loved watching his grandchildren’s recitals, sporting events, races, and more. Hiking, fishing, hunting, and working outdoors were some of Brett’s favorite hobbies. Brett and Donna created millions of memories, from camping trips in the mountains to walking on ocean beaches.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Donna Ploss, his daughter Maria Brett Grenier with her husband Johnathon Grenier, and his son Nathan Everett Ploss with his wife Tina St. Aubin-Ploss. Brett and Donna both have seven grandchildren, Lexie Grenier, Haydon Grenier, Blake Ploss, Jordan St. Aubin, Dylan Warburton, Jordan Lilianna Ploss, and Baylan Ploss. His brother Ricky Ploss along with his wife Karen, and his sister Meredith (Mary) Ploss-McNeil will miss him dearly. Donna’s sisters and brother will miss him as well. Brett has many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss him tremendously as well. Brett was known by many of his family as Super-Man, Grampa, “our second Dad”, and much more.

Brett was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Grace Ruth Ploss, his sisters Terry Ploss-Mora and Sheridan (Sherry) Ploss, and his and Donna’s best friends Debbie and Roger Plante.

There will be no funeral service for Brett, but his family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date. The family of Brett would like to thank the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home in Newport, New Hampshire, the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) and their nurses that helped care for him during hospice care, Dr. Roy Barnes for his continued dedication to Brett’s healthcare, Craig Jennison and his family, Dr. Jeffrey Holuszko, the doctors at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, their two children, all of their family members, and everyone else that dedicated time and love to our family.
