Obituary

Newbury and Guild, NH: Carolyn Ann Fowler, 83, of Newbury and longtime resident of Guild, passed away on May 11, 2023 after a brief illness. 

She was born in Unity, NH on September 7, 1939 to the late Bertina E. Fowler.  She was educated in local schools and had been a resident of the area her entire life. 

Carolyn worked for several local shoe shops including Green Mountain Sportswear.  Also, she was employed at the Dexter Inn in Sunapee. A caregiver, Carolyn raised three "adopted" children and was well known in the Sunapee schools as 'Gram' with the Foster Grandparent program. Carolyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader, especially biographies.

Carolyn is predeceased by her brother, Donald King, and her "adopted" children, Randy West and Brenda West.

Survivors include her adopted child, Ralph West; her siblings, Richard King of Kellyville, Ronald King of Goshen, Barbara West of Claremont, and Sandra Menard of Croydon; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews.

A graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport on Sunday May 21, 2023 at 1 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
